ORDER win Gfinity Elite Series Australia S2

Melbourne ORDER have successfully defended their Australian Gfinity title by defeating Sydney Chiefs in the grand final, 3-1.

The second edition of Gfinity's Australian Elite Series took place at the HOYTS Entertainment Quarter in Sydney, Australia with six-city franchised teams fighting for a share of the $80,000 AUD (~$60,000) prize pool during the past seven weeks.

Brisbane Deceptors and Azad "topguN" Orami's Sydney Roar were the first two sides to fall in the best-of-one league play. Both Melbourne representatives ORDER and AVANT progressed to the single-elimination playoffs, alongside Perth Ground Zero and Sydney Chiefs.

In the semis, ORDER came out on top in the local Melbourne derby against AVANT with a 2-0 victory, while Sydney Chiefs edged past Callum "BURNRUOk" Henderson's Perth Ground Zero in a three-map series last week.

Once again, the best-of-five grand final featured the previous season's finalists with Melbourne ORDER and Sydney Chiefs clashing for the title decider.

It was "business as usual" for Chris "emagine" Rowlands' men as they secured the first two maps with ease, before Mohammed "MoeycQ" Tizani's side was able to bounce back with a 16-13 win on Mirage.

Melbourne ORDER went on to win the event for the second time in a row after securing Train, 16-5, taking home the Season 2 trophy and the first-place prize cheque.
